Ridge Racer For PS3 = WTF?
Call me crazy, but shouldn’t a premiere launch title, I don’t know, work with the console it was released on? It seems that Ridge Racer 7, aside from receiving some fairly mediocre reviews, is what some of us in the business might call “broken”.
I’m not talking about some crappy framerate issues or some sketchy controls. Those are irritations. I’m talking about “Oh Dear Evil Jesus!” levels of broke-ness:
Many people who bought the game are reporting that graphics are tearing and warping. Sony better hope that this is a problem with the game and not the hardware. No official word has been given about this issue but Namco or Sony better do something about this before they get more bad press.
Man, Sony just can’t seem to catch a break these days… let’s hope this gets fixed, and soon.

RIIIIIIIIIIIIDGE RACER… will not be shown tonight due to technical difficulties.
Hmmmmm…. One of two of the pictures looks photoshope’d…. BUT I have to say, its no surprise if it is indeed glitched… exactly how many months did Namco have to produce a launch title, using final developer hardware, and to then test it?
As it being hardware, with all the PS3 games in production so far, someone would have reported it by now.
In other depressing news, I believe Europe will be getting PS3 around September 2007..

My my, this looks awfully like a malfunctioning GPU. Not that the cooling on the PS3 was any kind of humble, but I suppose it being a computer and all, these kinds of things are to be expected. I have so many games to enjoy right now, if it weren’t for outfitting my showroom, I’d probably steer clear of getting a console this close after launch… I can’t wait for the 360 with integrated HD-DVD and smaller form factor – THAT, ladies, is going to be the console to look out for this gen.
Wow… so Namco is trying to be as cool as Polyphony Digital, huh?

Mediocre reviews? Dude, Famitsu gave it a 36/40. That’s good, they’re known for being tough on games. It’s averaging around an 80% for a metascore.
