Final Fantasy IX Cinematics

Here’s a sampling of cinematics from the ever fabulous Final Fantasy IX. If you are a Final Fantasy fan and haven’t played this one, grab your self a copy and enjoy one of the most beautiful games released on the PS1. I picked it up on a lark when Kingdom Hearts 2 came out, big mistake. After playing through Final Fantasy IX, I never went back to the old Kingdom Hearts. Here you go, enjoy some of the highlights from this impressive little gem.

Have it. Never got around to playing it much. And with 12 and Zelda coming soon I probably won’t for a bit longer.

That said I will probably play it as soon as I finish some of the games coming out in the next few weeks.

Okay kids, you’re going to have to tackle the Kuja question/issue sooner or later.

It’s unavoidable at this point.

There’s an interesting “rule of threes” with the Final Fantasy series. The first three came out on NES. Then IV, V, and VI hit the SNES. This was followed by three games for the Playstation, and then X, XI and XII for the PS2.

Does this mean that the next three will be for the PS3? Or will Final Fantasy XIII take so long to produce that we never live to see anything after it?

I loved IX, and need to go through it again sometime (I haven’t played through it in a few years now).

I loved IX. It has some of the memorable charactes (Vivi and Freya FTW) and Kuja’s theme is second only to Sepiroth’s.

Pity it doesnt get as much recognition as the other FFs mostly because FF7 took center stage while FF8 made people think FF should always be hyper-realistic and not the chibi-style FF started out with.

Oh God. Kuja.

Not only is he probably THE HOTTEST FF character to ever grace the television screen, but he’s also one of the most successful.

While I respect Kefka for his ingenuity and (admittedly odd) flair, he’s not really the kind of villain I can get behind. He was able to complete his mission, though, despite getting the boot from his throne in the end.

Kuja, however.. Well, there’s another story. He destroyed a planet, beat the bajeezus out of the party, and even proceeded to destroy the entire universe..

Only to have some cheesy, out-of-nowhere bad guy pop in and go ‘Okay guys, I’ll make four of you NOT crispy critters for long enough to fight me, and if you beat me, I’ll conveniently fix the universe.’

Lame.
