Wii Confirmed as 'Not' Region Free

Yep, Nintendo O’ America has confirmed what most have been fearing:

“Wii will be region encoded by territory.”

Dammit!! I seriously wonder why they are doing this? The GBA and DS were region free, why not the Wii? C’mon Nintendo, you know there are games that come out in other countries, namely Japan, that many others would love to get their hands on…throw us a bone or two! While I am not a huge importer, I am considering doing it more often. Especially for some DS games I really want and some Xbox 360 games that I can get for cheap from Play-Asia and are region-free with full English support.

I’m still going to buy it, no worries about that…but it’s just a small disappointment, that’s all. I’ll just keep buying my games from the game shops like I have since I was a lil’ GayGamer. Just remember, Virtual Console.

Like Super Timsy, I will be buying it too, but as an importer of many GBA/DS games, I have to say I am disappointed. Hey Nintendo, with these lockouts, how do you plan on finding the next Elite Beat Agents?

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
