Virtual Wardrobe For The Nintendo DS

Sega wants to bring everyone and their Nintendog to the arcades. Sure, there’s Purikura (Photo sticker machines) that appeals to teenage girls; But what will turn our little sisters into joystick jockeys in the future? Enter Sega’s Oshare Majo Love & Berry (pronounced: Oh-sha-ray). Basically it’s a arcade game that dispenses magnetic cardboard cards that contain wardrobe data for your dewy-eyed avatar. Already a hit in Japanese arcades, Sega is feeding this addictive phenomenon by introducing a home version of sorts for the Nintendo DS.

The home kit comes with a card reader that attaches to the Gameboy Advance port, 3 original DS Oshare cards, and of course stickers for Toots’ lovely Lisa Frank Stickerbook collection (or for applying to your coral pink DS lite). Unfortunately if you want to expand the wardrobe for your moppet, you gotta go to the arcade. You can watch your character dance and interact with fellow fashionistas and, well, play dress up.

Although Sega is porting over the insect battle game targeted to young boys using the same card technology called Mushi King (Beetle King) to this side of the Pacific; There is no word if Osare Majo will be localized to regions outside of Asia. I would not recommend importing this title for DS unless you have access to the arcade cards. Wouldn’t it be a disaster if you have this rockin’ leopard halter camisole and can’t find a coordinating pleated skirt? Yeah, totally.
