Thompson Files Lawsuit Against Sony and Take 2... Again

Jack Thompson sounds ridiculous no matter what state he’s providing sound bytes in. Yesterday, he held a news conference in Arizona to let the media know that he was filing a wrongful death suit against Take 2 Interactive, Rockstar Games, and Sony in regards to 2004’s Cody Posey murders; apparently, Grand Theft Auto is once again to blame for a teen’s heinous crime. According to the suit, Cody Posey and the above companies owe a collective $600 million to the relatives of Posey’s victims. Gee, something tells me that Cody’s wallet ain’t that fat.

According to other news reports,
The $600 million lawsuit names several companies and Cody Posey, who it alleges played the game “obsessively” for several months before he shot his father, stepmother and stepsister in July 2004.Apparently, a member of the sheriff’s department informed Thompson about a PS2 and Grand Theft Auto being discovered in Posey’s home, and suddenly we’ve found ourselves with another lawsuit on our hands.
Really? “Obsessively?” Why wasn’t any of this brought up during the murder investigation or Young Mr. Posey’s trial? The media normally loves to play up the violent video game links these days. Also, doesn’t this claim smack of the claims Thompson made about the Jacob Robida murders last year?
Well, I suppose if I’d had my own faulty legislation defeated in the Louisiana court system, been kicked off the wrongful death suit in Alabama I helped instigate, found myself under the scrutiny of the Florida Bar Association due to my outrageous behavior, had my memoirs flop on the open market, and become the laughingstock of the general public, I suppose I’d return to my scum-sucking bottom feeder tendencies and try to strike it rich again. Heck, I might even compare myself to Jesus while I’m at it.
Give it up, Jack, you’re never going to win and you betray your true motives whenever you issue a public statement.
