Import Report: Chaos Wars
This week sees the import release of Chaos Wars. It’s a collaboration project between four publishers: Red Entertainment, Atlus, Idea Factory, and Aruze; and features characters from Gungrave, Spectral Souls, Growlanser and Shadow Hearts. It plays as a tactical RPG (like Disgaea) and is fully voiced. One interesting aspect of the project is that Idea Factory managed to borrow Nishimura Kinu, who is a primary Capcom character designer and artist, for promotional art.
Unfortunately, it is unlikely that Chaos Wars will be localized for markets outside Asia due to potential cross-licensing complications. However, I will be importing this title as my secret crush for Carmine (Growlanser) and Joachim (Shadow Hearts) knows no region encoding.
All that’s missing from this line-up of greatly under appreciated RPGs is an offering from Nippon Ichi. Exploding penguins makes better.
