GuitarAtomik Pwns Teh Internets!
Marques Cannon (aka GuitarAtomik, pictured above in a self portrait) is a brilliant artist. At least that was my opinion when I posted his incredible artwork not too long ago here on GG. His Video Game Girls series on DeviantArt is one of the best collections of fan art I’d seen in many a year. Thankfully, everyone seemed to agree with me and gave him the attention he deserved on sites like Aeropause and Kotaku and he even managed to make it all the way on to G4’s Attack of the Show. Although I was a bit miffed that AOTS didn’t mention where they had found his artwork, it’s water under the bridge at this point and the important thing was that Marques was getting some well deserved exposure.
I got an email from Marques last night with some great news. He has been approached by the UK’s PSM3 magazine who are going to feature his work and an interview with him. He will also be creating an exclusive piece just for the magazine. The page views on his site have gone from around 1,800 to well over 11,000 and I’m sure he will be getting more work once the PSM3 article hits the stands.
