GamePro TV Circa 1990
Check out this blast from the past with GamePro TV. I know some of you whippersnappers out there don’t even remember this show. It was one of the first gaming “news” shows which ran on Saturday mornings from 1990-1991. This was back in the day when Gamepro magazine was one of the very few sources for gaming guidance, besides EGM and Nintendo Power. Relive some memories with the futuristic action/adventurer Crystalis, and my personal fav Maniac Mansion for the NES. (Put the hamster in the microwave!) Super Ghouls and Ghosts for SNES. They even premier the SEGA Game Gear and the SEGA CD on the show. Little did SEGA know that they had 2 smokin’ duds on their hands.
It’s great to see how far we’ve come. In 1990 you had to wait a whole month for new gaming news. Now you can get gaming news updates sent to your cell phone, so you can check the roster for the new Madden game while you’re taking a crap in Helsinki. Sweet sweet progress.

Toots, don’t make me go in an update your article myself! How could you miss pointing out J.D. Roth of Fun House? – Now does anybody recognize the other guy?
I agree, Alex, that’s the show, Fun House, where I thought J.D. Roth was so hot – and I was only 8 or so.
Oh god, how could I forget the best children’s game show ever, Fun House. I loved the 2nd Fun House they had with the huge waterslide. I always wanted to be on that show.
I saw this episode the day it aired.
I feel old now…
