Sony's First-Rate DVD Cozy

It looks like Sony’s first official Blu-ray disc drive will be a fantastically expensive and boxy way to keep those freshly-bought Blu-ray movies warm on a lonely night, which is probably a great feautre, considering the drive won’t be able to play Blu-ray movies. Yeah, I thought it sounded like hooey too, even though it came straight from the genius fingers of supercute uberdork, blogger/novelist Cory Doctorow (whose disc I’ll cozy any day). At least, I hoped it was bogus. Then I saw this story, and this story and, of course, there was this story. A boy tries to be optimistic, but when your first piece of hardware supporting your shiny new format, like, doesn’t, a boy gets disappointed. And although it looks like the PS3 will support said shiny new format, I still can’t suppress a tickle of wicked glee whenever anyone else agrees that there’s a stupidhead (pictured, thanks to Kotaku) behind the show over at the Format Graveyard…I mean, Sony.

Oh FUCK no…
I couldn’t agree more, Paul.
