Preview: Dead Rising
Gay Content (so far): Other than having Frank West – the hottiest hotty in digital hottyville? The ability to put on tiny shirts and short shorts. Beating zombies with a purse. Did we mention Frank West?
The game that may finally force you to go out and buy a Xbox 360 comes out this Tuesday, August 8. A slimmed down version of the E3 demo, which had crowds around it during the three day show in May, is currently available on Xbox Live and worth downloading to get the feel of this next-gen title.
In Dead Rising you play as photojournalist Frank West on the scoop of the century after being dropped off in a suburban mall filled with the undead. Not to be outdone by the inside, outside the mall is surrounded by zombies banging on the doors trying to get in.
The legions of undead aren’t Frank West’s only problem. He’s got redneck NRA snipers with sympathetic dorky children, escaped convicts who like to bash in old people’s heads with baseball bats, cult leaders in the movieplex and unraveling the mysteries of why squashing a bee makes zombie heads explode.
There are also shoot-outs in the food court, erotic photography and don’t forget your pre-requisite Capcom femme fatales. But let’s face the fact that Frank West may be the most realistic masculine hero in gaming history. Hey Cheryl Austin, when do we get our Frank West drawing for the site?

played the demo this weekend and really enjoyed it. there are so many ways to kill zombies, and so far my favorite is the 12 pack of soda.
