And Now a Reading From The Book of Duh!

Craig Anderson, professor of psychology at Iowa State University and author of “Violent Video Games Effects on Children and Adolescents” has these helpful hints for parents:
1. Play the game yourself, or have someone demonstrate it for you.
2. Watch for these red flags: if the game portrays violence frequently; rewards it; treats it humorously; ignores or downplays non-violent solutions; or omits the realistic consequences of violence.
3. Be an involved citizen/consumer: If you learn a retailer is selling violent games to children, complain to the owner or manager. If the retailer is doing a good job screening sales or rentals of violent games, thank and support them by buying non-violent video games.
You can read more about Mr. Anderson’s advice from The Book of Duh! here. I give kudos to Mr. Anderson on capitalizing and profiting off the fear and ignorance of parents. Cheers, may your book sell well.
